On Friday I visited la Cathedrale de Notre Dame. People from all over the world gathered around a glass box to leave messages of peace.
Children lit candles at the statue of the Vierge a L'enfant.
On my way out, I found myself in the middle of a field trip.
Outside in the streets, the wind was fierce.
I took refuge at my sister's place in Le Marais on the right bank of the Seine. Claire is an artist and an activist. We went to a rally in front of a department store where union supporters were protesting unfair working conditions.
After the demonstration, we took the metro to Little India and went from store to store looking for a bottle of Grover Vineyards wine. Three or four conversations in broken English later, we finally hit the jackpot; this store sold Grover Vineyards by the case!
We made our way back to Claire's place for dinner.
