My photo from The Beast of Bottomless Lake appears on the cover of the Independent Film Issue (Sept/Oct '07) of Reel West Magazine, which hits news stands today.  In Vancouver, you can pick up a copy at Biz Books, Duthie Books, or Does Your Mother Know (2139 West 4th Ave in Kits, open 9am til 9pm).  The feature article, a diary on the making of the film in which I play Ernie McKellar, the young film-maker hired to document the Ogopogo expedition, is illustrated with several of my photos.  Pick up a copy and check it out!

Bionic Woman on NBC

I got a call from my agent today -- I've been cast in a small role on Bionic Woman, a new NBC series based on the 1974 TV show The Six Million Dollar Man.  The word from casting is that the part is "potentially recurring."

Stargate confirmed

It's official!  I'll be playing a supporting role in Stargate: The Ark of Truth, the first of two movies greenlighted by MGM based on Stargate SG-1, the longest running science fiction TV series in North America.  The movie will be directed by franchise co-creator Robert Cooper.  I got the call this afternoon as I was checking out the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge with my friend Joo-wan, who is visiting from Korea.

Stargate update

I got an early morning phone call from my agent Roxanne; I've been shortlisted for the role on Stargate!

G.B. Shaw's Overruled at UBC

I auditioned for a new Canadian play at the Arts Club Theatre on Monday and had a callback for the same on Tuesday.  This morning I read for a part on the TV show Stargate Atlantis.  In the midst of this I have been in rehearsals for George Bernard Shaw's Overruled out at UBC (my alma matter). We tech tomorrow and Sunday and open next week for a limited 3 day run.  Mark your calendars: Thursday March 29th through Saturday March 31st at the Dorothy Somerset Studio at UBC @ 7:30pm (just 5 minutes west of the UBC bookstore: click here for a Google map or here and follow the links for parking and other info on the venue).  The play is Shaw's tongue in cheek exploration of infidelity and it's a lot of fun!  I love my cast mates (talented BFA actors Yoshie Bancroft & Kate Hilderman and Vancouver veteran Guy Fauchon) and the director (MFA candidate David Savoy) and Stage Manager (Melania Radelicki) are terrific.  Good design team, too.  Read all about it on the Theatre at UBC website. Then come join us at the end of the week. Only 45 minutes long, this one's light and bubbly, like a good Champagne.
