On Saturday I went to a Halloween party with my friend Hugo who lives out here in Montreal. Hugo makes his living working as an actor and as the artistic director of Théâtre des Tournesols, a local theatre company. I've been in Montreal for a week now and it's been fantastic... what a great city... what terrific people! (merci Hugo). The Halloween party was in a loft that's shared by a group of multi-disciplinary artists. Little Red Riding hood was dancing up a storm...
This québécois miner had an easy smile.

A scary French-Canadian. (more below!!)
Last week, a few days before the Labour Day long weekend, I met up with my friends Steve and Zoe in Field, BC and went on a multi-day hiking vacation through Yoho National Park in the Rockies.
I arrived in Icheon yesterday and took a bus to Seoul. At Jamsil station, I flagged a cab and tried out my first words of Korean on the driver. "Song-pa-gu-min-hawg-wan." I crashed on the floor of Stuart's tiny apartment and slept like a baby after the 19 hour trip.
Today Catharine showed me around Seoul.
This morning I went to the Lama Temple with Caroline where we saw the 25 meter (85-foot) Maitreya Buddha carved from a single white sandalwood tree.
Outside, people lit incense.
