Laura and James

The last few weeks have been quite full.  Weddings, portrait commissions, an assignment for Bank of Montreal, voiceover auditions and the filming of a new scene for Citizen 101, the indie feature I'm doing with Rory Blanchard.  I am heading up to the Yukon in a few days and figured I'd post some of my favourite photos from Laura and James' wedding before I left.  I've known James since we were kids and think of him as a brother.  The wedding in St John's was a vacation for me -- I shot purely for pleasure.  Follow the link below... more photos after the jump!

Jamie and Michael's Wedding

Jamie and Michael were married on a beautiful windy Saturday at a local Kingdom Hall a couple of weeks ago.  I've almost finished building their proof gallery and thought I'd share a few shots from the day.

We just managed to squeeze it in!  I've wanted to do an engagement shoot with Jamie and Michael ever since they booked me to shoot their wedding (it's next Saturday!), but Jamie was busy being an Opera singer in Chicago and Michael was busy being a concert pianist out and about Canada so it was a little tricky finding a moment to get them in front of the camera together.  The planets came into alignment yesterday and we kicked off the long weekend with a sunset shoot around Stanley Park.

Rachael and Ben

The weather gods showed their favour to Rachael and Ben last Saturday and ordered a reprieve from the rain so they could have some sunshine on their wedding day. 

Rachael was a student in the technical theatre program at UBC when I was doing my acting training out there.  This was a small, intimate celebration on a sunny afternoon in Kits Point, not far from the planetarium.

Yuki and Dan

I shot Yuki and Dan's wedding in Whistler with Eric (Urban Wedding) a couple of weeks ago.  It was pretty wet up there (ok, torrential rain), but Yuki and her guests were playful about it and the day went off swimmingly.  Here's Yuki, coming out of her room.

A few of my favourite dancing photos from Yuki and Dan's wedding that I shot in Whistler over the long weekend.

This is an old school in-camera effect called "dragging the shutter" -- with my camera set to manual, I chose a slow shutter speed and fired my flash at the end of the exposure to freeze the action.

Kristen and RJ

I shot 3 weddings with Eric over at Urban Wedding last weekend.  Friday July 27th was a videography assignment, but I also brought along my still camera and got some fun shots of Kristen and RJ.

Reem and Adel

After shooting Gary and Sharlene's "East meets West" wedding late into the night on Saturday, I got up Sunday morning to photograph Reem and Adel -- a traditional Lebanese wedding!

I shot 2 weddings with Eric over at Urban Wedding last weekend.  Gary and Sharlene got married on Saturday July 14th in a remarkable hybrid of Eastern and Western tradition.

The day began in a whirlwind of colour at a Sikh temple.
